Contact Senator Schumer, Senator Gillibrand, and your Congressperson to restore Fair Housing funding for Long Island today! https://ow.ly/tcaz50VcPWv  Support Fair Housing Funding Restoration. Long Island fair housing watchdog loses $1M in DOGE spending cuts

Newsday LogoAs you may have seen in the Newsday article and the Newsday Editorial, recently, Long Island Housing Services (LIHS) faced a devastating setback when the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk, terminated our federal contract, resulting in a loss of $1 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) over the next three years.

This devastating $1 million funding loss over the next three years will severely undermine LIHS’s critical work to combat housing discrimination and ensure fair and equitable access to housing for all Long Island residents. Without this vital support, LIHS will be forced to scale back our essential services, leaving many vulnerable residents without recourse against unlawful housing practices.
