Long Island Housing Services, Inc. (LIHS) client Carmen Castro testified at Poverty Amid Plenty on Long Island as part of the Truth Commission on Poverty in New York State. Carmen spoke about her experiences with housing discrimination, homelessness, the Nassau County Department of Social Services and losing her Section 8 status.  When Carmen completed her testimony she was asked questions by Long Island Cares, Inc. Chief Executive Officer Paule Pachter.
